Contribute to the expansive artwork of 'The Unseen' by attending one of our free workshops these school holidays.
We're excited to see our main oceanarium hall become transformed with 'The Unseen' exhibition (on display until 8 June). Brought to you by creative scientist Gabby O'Connor, she shares the unseen risks of environmental change through collaborative artwork using 12km of rope, cable ties and science.
This expansive artwork has travelled the length of New Zealand as part of the Sustainable Seas 'National Sciences' programme, being added to by communities and schools along the way (including recent visits to Hawke's Bay schools).
Come along to the National Aquarium of New Zealand these school holidays and take part in one of our free Unseen workshops. As well as you and your family creating and adding to 'The Unseen' exhibition yourselves, you’ll also learn more about the artist Gabby O’Connor and local ocean science research.
