20136 NAQ HolidayProg Roll out Facebook Post

Your budding marine biologist will be investigating five new science themes these holidays, spending time in the research lab, out in nature, and behind the scenes at the National Aquarium.

They will also be immersed in the world of art and science combined, with our “Ocean and I” art exhibition taking place throughout the whole month. The exhibition showcases over 30 national artists and their connection to the ocean through many different forms of art.

Monday: Hide and Seek
Today we will need our architecture and building skills!
We will be investigating why some animals live in shells, how do they carry their homes on their backs, and what would it be like for us to do the same? Also, why and how do some shells have patterns and colour, and why are some pointy and sharp, and some are smooth?

Tuesday: Bright and Shiny
Today we will need to show our true colours!
We will investigating the world of colour, you will be transported to a rainbow coloured world, discovering the many patterns and colours used in the animal kingdom.

Wednesday: Teeny and Weeny
Today we will need your lab coat!
We will be investigating all things tiny in the ocean. What microscopic animals are there and how do they help our world?

Thursday:  Dark and Light
Today we will need our torches and our sunglasses!
We will be investigating why and how some animals live in the dark and some live in the light, what special super powers do they all have?

Friday:  Near and Far
