This year the National Aquarium of New Zealand invites you and your students to become Nature Guardians, by taking part in our 24 Gifts for Nature project during Term 4. Help motivate your students to learn simple actions they can do at school (and at home) that will have a positive impact on the world around us.  

You’ll also get the chance to WIN a Virtual Little Penguin Encounter for your class!

By taking part in this free 6 week programme your students will be able to:

  • Identify 24 specific actions they can take that have positive outcomes for nature
  • Feel motivated to undertake specific actions for nature through working as a class group
  • Feel empowered by participating in specific actions for nature
  • Build their understanding of how their specific actions can impact our natural world and resources

How to take part

Registration is free and can be done by submitting your details below. You’ll also be able to download our free resource handbook compiled by our team, which outlines all 24 actions that your class can complete, including activities and materials you’ll need.  Additionally, it provides you with discussion points and videos that can be used to stretch your students understanding and encourage them to learn and do more.

Share Your Journey

We’d love to follow you and your class on your 24 Gifts for Nature journey, please take regular photos and/or videos of your student’s achievements and send them to us via email.
Share on your school’s social media page and use the hashtag #24Gifts4Nature (we may share these on our social media networks).

By registering below and completing all 24 Gifts for Nature, your class could be in with the chance to WIN a Virtual Penguin Encounter.

While on their virtual visit with us your students will have a chance to meet our charismatic Little Penguins and their keeper through Zoom.  They’ll learn some amazing facts about our wildlife, the world they live in and that by continuing to give gifts to nature they will help the environment and our penguin’s wild counterparts.

To be in the chance to win, you must be registered and submit your entries and photos/video
before the 27 November 2020.
