Aquarium Volunteer Programmes
If you've got some free time, from a few hours to a few days, and have a keen interest in science and an outgoing personality, we'd love to hear from you. We need volunteers to help with school tours, rocky shore visits and holiday programmes.
Being an Aquarium Volunteer is a great opportunity if you have a flexible lifestyle and would like to help others learn about the wonderful world of sea creatures, New Zealand's native species and other wildlife from around the world.
Secondary school students working towards their Young New Zealander Awards may also find volunteering at the National Aquarium may help add the necessary credits required to complete award qualifications.
Training will be given to help identify fish at the aquarium and those living on the rocky shoreline.
